About the vineyard. Menefee Vineyard sits at a relatively high elevation in the coastal foothills of the Yamhill-Carlton AVA. The site is known for its iron-rich Jory soils, which together with the cool climate of the northern Willamette Valley tend to produce Pinot Noir that is aromatic, bright, and silky in texture.
About the AVA. Yamhill-Carlton is an American Viticultural Area in Oregon’s northern Willamette Valley, centered on the towns of Yamhill and Carlton. It is one of the Pacific Northwest’s best-known regions for Pinot Noir, defined by ancient marine sedimentary soils and a long, cool growing season.
In the glass. Cherry, mushroom, and a zesty lift on the finish. Medium-bodied, with the structure to drink well alongside food and the bottle age to drink well now.
