Voyage des Amis — 2027

A Wine Lover’s River Journey Through Bordeaux

March 11–18, 2027

Aloys Scheer, of La Brasserie Restaurant & Urban Winery, invites you to join him for eight days aboard AmaWaterways' AmaDolce, exploring the vineyards, châteaux, and river towns of southwest France.

As a member of the La Brasserie Wine Club, you have first choice of cabins before this journey opens to the public.

The vineyards of southwest France produce some of the world’s most celebrated wines. Next March in 2027, Aloys
Scheer invites you to join him aboard AmaWaterways’ intimate AmaDolce for eight days gliding the Garonne and
Dordogne rivers with fellow members and friends from right here in Bozeman. Aloys will be hosting throughout:
leading tastings, talks, and pairings built around his own wines and others he has chosen specifically for the
journey.

The itinerary moves through the heart of Bordeaux wine country.

In Libourne, the gateway to Saint-Émilion, you’ll wander the limestone-carved village and its sun-drenched vineyards, one of the most storied appellations in France.

At Blaye, you explore the fortified citadel that overlooks the Gironde estuary and attend an exclusive wine festival that brings the region’s winemakers together for one evening. This is the Right Bank, where Merlot and Cabernet Franc reign which are the same two varieties La Brasserie blended into Droit Noir in a deliberate nod to Bordeaux tradition. The name says everything: droit, meaning “right,” a direct reference to this very ground.

Pauillac and the Médoc bring a different register entirely: Grand Cru estates, sweeping vines, and tastings from some of the most celebrated terroir in the world.

Cadillac offers a quieter elegance: medieval châteaux, still streets, and countryside that reminds you how deeply wine is woven into the culture here.

The journey begins and ends in Bordeaux itself, a UNESCO World Heritage city with markets, museums, and the Cité du Vin.

Aboard the AmaDolce, with just 144 guests, the experience is all-inclusive for onboard life: every onboard meal, unlimited wine and beer at the table, a daily Sip & Sail cocktail hour, and shore excursions at every port.

After the cruise, Aloys will lead an optional two-day extension of his own design. The itinerary drawn from his personal experience in the region for those who want to stay a little longer in good company. Additional extensions are also available before and after the cruise from AmaWaterways into the Basque Country and San Sebastián, Barcelona, Paris, or the Loire Valley.

Wine Club members receive priority access and first selection of cabin categories. Spaces in this group are limited.
